One of the best restaurants in Bahia, the Capim Santo is set in a lovely garden with lush mango trees and plenty of tables. The specialty is seafood. Try the robalo fish with a crust of cashew nuts and a side of vatapá shrimp stew, or the perfectly tender grilled tuna. Another delicious dish is the stew of prawns in coconut milk, served in a hollowed-out pumpkin. There's homemade pastas in a variety of seafood combinations, or for a vegetarian option try the mini-cannelloni stuffed with asparagus, ricotta, and tomato confit. Desserts include some favorites with a tropical twist, such as the guava crème brûlée or the tarte tartin with banana.
The Chef, Morena Leite, grew up in Trancoso and studied at Cordon Bleu in France.
