Arraial Dajuda

Whith more then a 100 Pousadas and hotels, Arraial is one of the main touristic destinations in the area. Also known for its good Restaurants and night life. While Trancoso remain quiet most of the year, Arraial always have some movement in the streets and many shops. We recommend the Pitinga Beach if you are willing to spend the day there. If you walk south 30 minutes you can visit the Taipe Beach.
Remenber that shops and most nice restaurants open only in the end of the afternoon!

From Trancoso you can acces Arraial by dirt road (30 minutes, bad conditions if rains) and by asfalt (50 minutes)

Fisherman Village - Caraiva

Caraiva is a small fisherman village in the south of Trancoso. To get there you drive 1 and a half hour from Trancoso on a dirt road. In the end you have to cross the river, there are no cars in Caraiva! The streets are made with sand and the eletricty arrived less then 1 year ago. Many thought that would destroy the magic and the sky of Caraiva, but eletricity came on a nice way, soft lighting in the streets and path ways.
Explore the river in a local boat!Worth seeing!

Praia do Espelho - Trancoso

Following my friends stories about the place,I headed for Espelho Beach in in the South of Trancoso .Until 2000 this place was almost not linked to the outside world. Now you can visit one of the hidden Hotspots of Brazil for those seeking a wild beach with natural swimming pools and coral reefs.
The most important tip is to watch carefully the tide table. On high tide Espelho beach is nice, but on low tide it becomes one of the most impressive beaches of Brazil.

40 minutes drive from Trancoso heading to Caraiva on a dirt road, do not go if its raining!
